The BM1 (PTE0211) is a basic electric fence monitor<\/a>. It provides an alarm<\/a> when your
\nelectric fence is cut or shorted, or the energiser has been turned off. When connected to the
\nend of the fence (return wire) the BM1 can monitor one complete circuit (zone) of electric
\nfence.
\nThis monitor can be powered from a 12V power supply, or a 12V battery. If you need the
\nmonitor to operate during a power failure, consider using a 12V lead acid battery that is
\nbeing kept charged from a battery charger or solar panel.
\nThe BM1 is intended to be used with pulsed type electric fence energisers with output
\nvoltages of 10kV or less. The energiser should conform to IEC60335.2.76 or similar.
\nThe BM1 includes two switched 12V outputs:
\n\uf0b7 Siren
\n\uf0b7 Strobe
\nIt also has an internal Beeper, which can be muted with a shunt (supplied).
\nThis product has three different ways to perform a reset:
\n\uf0b7 Built-in switch
\n\uf0b7 [Optional] Magnetic reed switch
\n\uf0b7 External push button switch.<\/p>\n

1. Turn the electric fence energiser off
\n2. Remove the cover from the BM1
\n3. Wire the 12V and Gnd to a 12V power supply or battery, but leave the power off
\n4. Attach the optional external equipment now
\na. Siren
\nb. Strobe
\nc. External reset switch
\n5. Connect wires from the fence to the BM1
\na. Fence binding post
\nb. Ground binding post
\n6. Keep these fence wires at least 25mm away from all the other \u201clow voltage\u201d wires
\n77. Turn the electric fence energiser on
\n8. Turn the 12V power supply on\/plug in the battery
\n9. The \u201cGOOD\u201d LED should flash at once and then pulse with the fence
\n10. Wait 30 seconds
\n11. If your fence voltage is good the BM1 should not go into alarm
\na. Green \u201cGood\u201d LED is PULSING
\nb. Red \u201cAlarm\u201d LED is OFF
\nc. Beeper, Siren and Strobe are OFF
\n12. Turn the electric fence energiser off
